We Are Family

Join us as we consider the many ways the concept of “family” plays out in our lives. Borrowing from the Greek word koinonia, we examine the philosophy of a “beloved community of fellowship and love.” Drawing from 1 John 3:11, “For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another”, we will explore what that means to each one of us, personally, and as a church community.

How can we best exemplify true koinonia, a beloved community, within and outside our church walls? Is there a need for this depth of connection in today’s world? If we so choose, how can we each contribute, authentically, to expanding this concept of loving one another? What does that look like?

“Children & Families” was an area of outreach interest indicated on our recent Sacred Service survey. Therefore, following the service in the Fellowship Room, we will enjoy an informative presentation by Shannon Lucas, Adoption Specialist from Wesley House Family Services.
