What Does the Power of Zeal Have to do With The Parable of the Talents?
Zeal is an attribute of the One Presence and One Power, the faculty of enthusiasm, intensity and exuberance. It provides our inner urge to progress; it is our motivation to achieve.
Each year we visit The Parable of the Talents, a teaching found in two of the three synoptic gospels, Matthew and Luke. We explore how the “talents” represent the energy of abundance in every expression; time, talent, health, relationships, spiritual consciousness, in addition to the energy of money. Abundance is either experienced through the consciousness of lack or the awareness of God as the Source of all good.
This Sunday we included in our understanding of this well-known parable the vital element of the power of zeal. We considered how, by tapping into this energizing and creative power, we are well equipped to express our talents in various avenues in our lives. Blessing the world by expressing our divine nature is met with enthusiasm and great, great joy.
