Join us Sunday, February 14 at 11:00 am for “Love, Love, Love…” with Rev. Daybree Thoms. It’s Valentine’s Day! What greater spiritual tool, readily available, do we have but LOVE!
The history of Valentine’s Day is not clear, with more than one St. Valentine in our ancient past, and was most probably combined with a pagan celebration of fertility. In addition to the United States, Valentine’s Day is celebrated in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France and Australia. This special day to tell our friends and family that they are loved comes around once a year and we jump at the chance to communicate that love.
First Corinthians 13 is filled with beautiful poetry about love, ending with, “And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.” The greatest of these is love. Our greatest power is our capacity to love, to move beyond ourselves to express the divine love in our hearts; the love that each of us feels.
Today is the day to not hold back. You forgot to mail a card? Call them! Text them! Facetime them! Shout your love from the rooftops. LOVE OUT LOUD! It is what we were all called here to do. And join us at Unity of the Keys to feel the love!
Following the Sunday Service
Commitment – Re-Commitment Ceremony
On this Valentine’s Day we will gather for a brief ceremony to commit to loving one another. Many of us do not love or appreciate ourselves. As we commit to loving ourselves, our ability to love our neighbor expands. We must first love ourselves before we are able to fully embrace loving another ~ a spouse, a partner, a beloved other, or a neighbor.
If you are single – join us. If you are married – join us. If you are in a commitment relationship – join us. This is all about committing to love ourselves and committing to love others.
You can join us in person! Facemasks please and social distancing are required. We check temperatures and have excellent sanitizers at our entrances. Unity of the Keys is a place of healing prayer!
